WELSH INDOOR BOWLS ASSOCIATION

COVID 19 VIRUS UPDATE.

Officers of the WIBA are currently working on next year’s calendar of events. At present we are planning to complete last season’s outstanding tournament during October with the 2020/21 season starting on the first Saturday in November.

As you are aware the rate that lockdown is going to be eased is in the hands of the Welsh Assembly Government, and the WIBA will be working with the WLIBA and Bowls Wales to put in place a return to play strategy that will allow indoor bowls stadiums to open safely when we get the go ahead from government.

When the season closed earlier this year, lockdown meant that we were not able to hold our AGM. This has now been rescheduled for October. To ensure that the organisation continues to run during this period a core group of officers have been appointed to carry out the day to day business.

The following officers are currently acting on behalf of the organisation, Mike Doody, David Phillips, Nigel Williams, Peter Brill and John Phillips.

When information becomes available we will update the website at regular intervals to keep members abreast of what is happening.

2020/2021 Season. The start of the season (if all goes well with the Corona Virus) will be Sat 24th Oct 2020. (Fixtures are now on line).

The new structure of the O'60 Championship will come into force after delegates voted unanimously for the proposal (See O'60 Championship page).

Please can you arrange your fixtures ASAP for the Hand Book, and the Merit Table fixtures.
